Valid link. I don't see any major MSFT tech nor being open sourced nor ported to Linux (D3D, etc etc). Where is Office for Linux? Where is Vulkan/open standards adoption? Many will be happy to forget EEE and past MSFT as soon as we'll see them being open across the board.

Major Microsoft tech except .NET, PowerShell, Code, Teams, Edge... Microsoft isn't doing open source in a narrow specific way you personally want and are therefore dismissing tons of other contributions.

- We had Mono before .NET was O/S - PowerShell ... have so many shells already - Code... Where is full VS2019 on Linux? - Edge... Not relevant What about: - Trying to 'sneak' a D3D stub in the kernel? - Office for Linux? - Vulkan adoption? - Any major contrib for Linux adoption?

It's funny my original post was about telling people how to do Linux the Right Way™ and here you are telling Microsoft how to do Linux the Right Way™ according to your very narrow personal demands.

I've just asked simple question. Can you cite any recent strategic technology (currently Windows only) which is being ported to Linux and/or open-sourced?

Read the list. What do you consider a strategic heavy hitter Windows only technology this is being ported to Linux and/or Open Sourced? Edge? Teams? Which one? What is a heavily strategic tech that I missed in your list?

I have given you a handful of examples, which you then summarily dismissed, and then linked you to a list of many more. I would encourage you to dig down on those some more. I hope you have a Happy New Year.

I understand that given you apparently work on WSL, may have a skewed vision of what is happening all around. Given you are adamant that "Microsoft Loves Linux", can you cite the biggest contribution to the kernel yet that we all benefited from? Have a lovely 2021!

Understood you can't/don't want/have your reasons not to answer the simple question above. Enjoy the rest of the day, sir.
