SO MUCH THIS. It is completely OK to have a job that pays the bills but is not your passion. Normalize making a living and not living for work.
“Do what you love” can also be really limiting for young people. Growing up, I did all of the stereotypical young girl activities (dance, gymnastics, makeup, etc). My love was dance, and I fixated on it because I was told to “do what I love”.

You may find that you end up loving your work, but it’s absolutely OK if you do not. Find something that you are comfortable doing, find coworkers who support you, find something that gives you space for the other things you love.

“Ted Cruz would want me to do this” has got to be the worst justification for criminal activity ever used by anyone.

I would have been more convinced by “Coach Tuberville said it was OK.” At least he’s knowledgeable about _something_.
