Why I think the Googler union may be a sea change in our industry. It's time for us to assert our so-called "politics" over the organisations we form the lifeblood of. That's 'Just Business' as much as executives lobbying policy makers.
Silicon Valley managers believe that "politics" by workers is inherently unprofessional, but that corporate lobbying -- up to and including literally writing laws -- is Just Business.

Tell your students that, when solving a math problem, being stuck and not knowing what to do is the normal state of affairs *for you as well*. And that a good problem is one that gets you stuck, sometimes for years or even several lifetimes.
