Shaking my head at this marketing BS from Purism. They believe in free software "to their core" so much that they colluded with the FSF and spent a ton of work *hiding* proprietary blobs from users (and eliminating their freedom to see them, audit them, and replace them)
Weird how many people in my replies thought it was necessary to go to the defense of a multi-national for user-hostile changes, rather than agree quietly that they could do better.
People are informing me of e-mails coming from MEDIAFIRE today about how they're going to start classifying accounts as "abandoned" if they don't meet certain criteria, and the offered content of those accounts will be deleted, starting January.
Yet another proof that @GitHub is actually hostile to developers.

Reducing the index to one year will wipe-out all of my useful github-wide code search. No way to find that one obscure repo with the right source code anymore.
With the way the web forgets so much these days, there will be absolutely no way to find anything. What's the next step? Deleting year-unused repositories since they are not relevant anymore?
