LLVM was one of the projects that helped me become interested in working on programming languages and compilers. This year I taught (a simplified version of it) to my first students.
LLVM started 20 years ago today! From humble beginnings at UIUC, it has grown to include contributions from hundreds of people and powers countless products and impactful languages. How have you used LLVM, contributed to it, or been touched by a product using it? #CelebrateLLVM

Hard to believe that it has been 20 years since our first discussions about a persistent, language-indep, machine-indep, SSA-based IR suitable for both static and JIT compilation. Design ideas rooted in compiler research like SSA, separation of concerns, LTO... #CelebrateLLVM

NVIDIA's CUDA C++ compiler, which is behind all the DL frameworks and innovations, is based on LLVM. Congratulations to LLVM and LLVM community!

Thank you to all the mentors (on mailing lists, at our jobs, and everywhere else in the community) that have helped to build the llvm ecosystem and community.

I’ve taught how to use llvm in grad compiler classes. It’s a great tool for learning as well as for sharing research.

I started being pulled into LLVM by wanting to run @JuliaLanguage on GPUs! It has been an amazing journey alongside @maleadt. The best thing about LLVM is the melting pot it has been and that allows us to go multi-vendor! So thanks to the LLVM community! #CelebrateLLVM
