The Acme:: namespace in CPAN is full of hackerism and creativity like in anywhere else I have seen. One favorite of mine is Acme::Code::FreedomFighter. 👇
If you write Perl without strict, and use Acme::Code::Police, the module deletes your program, that way you avoid mistakes.
However, if you additionally use Acme::Code::FreedomFighter, that one deletes Acme::Code::Police.

So this one is more concise, even shorter, and more performant: It does not build an intermediary array, and does everything in one pass. As you'd do it by hand. 💪
Mind you, that is an #AdventOfCode exercise, not even production code. 😂
I’ll leave the KISS version, and call it a day. However, I don’t promise I won’t think about that loop in my death bed.

Now, we have an unmanageable system of NoSQL databases, complex JS frontends, and a death star of micro services.
