I found this book to be an excellent overview highlighting many issues with UBI: versobooks.com/books/3717-au… Also, the generally pro-UBI book "Inventing the Future" has a great postscript in the 2nd ed that talks about a lot of serious risks.

So many potential issues. Will demands for unpaid household labor just get pushed farther? UBI would likely significantly intensify exploitative globalization practices unless it's global in scope.

We had rent control measures here but they were abolished. We tried to vote on them again and they got defeated thanks to literally nobody talking about them ("rent /what/??"). Now, guess who's neighborhood is being gentrified and whose rent prices are going through the roof. 🙃
