NEW video from me & @tomhannen addressing more myths that have been used to play down Covid this winter.
Featuring:
• Why delays in death registration (& bad charts) wrongly led people to think there was minimal excess mortality
• "Excess winter deaths" are not "excess deaths"
Important slide of COVID demographics in England.
What impact does vaccinating over-75s or over-65s have?
→ vaccinate small % of population
→ target most deaths
→ large amount of hosp. admissions but less ICU
→ small % of cases
From @chrischirp at @IndependentSage briefing
The UK is currently publishing less data on its otherwise impressive vaccine rollout than other countries.
I've done some international comparative analysis for @CFPData.

Extraordinary data from Scotland on excess deaths by cause and location in 2020 nrscotland.gov.uk/files/stat… 6,686 deaths involving COVID-19 closely match 6,704 excess over 5-year average. But 570 *fewer* deaths than normal in hospitals, even with over 3,000 Covid deaths! ?????
Deaths at home normally around 12,000, but *17,000* in 2020 (>40% extra). Extra 1,800 cancer deaths at home, 1,000 from heart disease and strokes. So massive change in place of death in Scotland – very similar to England and Wales. But what has the end-of-life care been like?
