oh yeah that works for me too sometimes! when i really don't want to start something i tell myself to just do it for 20 minutes, and by the time 20 minutes is up i've already overcome the initial hurdle and don't mind continuing. works on my dumbass brain every time

100% same. I imagine it's difficult for anyone who's working on a task that benefits from flow state but with ADHD it's just impossible for me

It wasn't really that bleak. Towns where land was owned in common probably ran much smoother than you think, and the process of enclosure was traumatic and resulted in a lot of fatalities. If you're interested in learning more maybe look up "primitive accumulation" or "enclosure"
