My largest motivation challenge is that I often have weeks where I can't perceive progress. I also struggle to find learning materials that match my learning style. It's hard to stay motivated when my efforts feel ineffective and manic.

Forcing myself to take a break every so often and just chill has been game changing. Getting over the "always being productive" cycle is more important than is given credit for - and finding an environment that fosters that is so hard.

During the beginning of the year I was very motivated to start from the basics and improve my skillset, but I soon got demotivated because I set impractical expectations for myself, and I couldn't get results fast enough.

I now understand that results don't come easy, but if you put in the work to learn the basics you'll successfully master any language and tool and achieve great results.

Motivation is always tough, I think a main thing is getting the actual work done that needs to be done. I overcame work ethic issues and a β€œrefusal” to push myself and learn. 2021 is the year of doing a coding bootcamp and trying to get a real job after high school and startups

In ~March I generally recalibrated my pace from small highly-productive sprints to a more marathon mindset. One step at a time. Limiting myself to One Next Thing helps with motivation. #DevDiscuss
