Good news from the U.S. Capitol Police: "The lockdown at the U.S. Capitol has been lifted. The fire under the bridge on I-295 at First and F Streets, SE, has been contained by DC Fire. The investigation into the incident is continuing."

Some allies have also told Trump that he will need to take some responsibility for inciting the riot if he wants a serious lawyer to defend him, which he has indicated he doesn’t want to do.

Thankfully, it looks like a case of the jitters. There is *no threat* to the public, Secret Service says.
Public safety and law enforcement responded to a small fire in the area of 1st and F streets SE, Washington, D.C. that has been extinguished. Out of an abundance of caution the U.S. Capitol complex was temporarily shutdown. There is no threat to the public.
