One of my favorite episodes of the @lexfridman podcast with @tegmark. They cover #AI from the perspective of security & safety, propaganda, war, and physics. This thread contains some of my personal highlights. (1/5)
Here's my conversation with Max Tegmark (@tegmark). Our first chat was episode #1 of this podcast. Now he's back! We talk about the intersection of machine learning and physics, and also about how to avoid near-term and long-term existential threats of AI. invidious.snopyta.org/watch?v=RL4j4KPw…

"Improve the News" (created by @tegmark / @MIT) is an #AI based platform that allows you to bypass your filter bubble by changing certain parameters. A helpful tool to become aware of current propaganda and to get different perspectives. (2/5) improvethenews.org/

Why are biological #WoMD outlawed? Because they are so cheap, that they are easy to get for unstable actors. Time will tell whether we decide to outlaw autonomous weapons for the same reason. It's on the agenda of @FLIxrisk and we can only hope they succeed. (4/5)

The book "Life 3.0" by @tegmark sparked my curiosity about #consciousness in early 2019. Highly recommended read for everyone interested in #AI and #neuroscience. (5/5)
Just finished "Life 3.0" by @tegmark and I must say, chapter 8 about consciousness was really outstanding. For everyone who wants to dig deeper into this topic from a scientific standpoint, this is a must read!

If you want to know what makes #NumPy arrays so much faster than lists in #Python, watch the first 10 minutes of this tutorial by @keithgalli. Keep watching for a comprehensive introduction to this amazing library. invidious.snopyta.org/watch?v=GB9ByFAI…
