Security analyst with 20+ years of experience (@sec_consult / @atos). AI enthusiast and Python hacker. Curious about neuroscience, consciousness, and physics.
The book "Life 3.0" by @tegmark sparked my curiosity about #consciousness in early 2019. Highly recommended read for everyone interested in #AI and #neuroscience. (5/5)
Just finished "Life 3.0" by @tegmark and I must say, chapter 8 about consciousness was really outstanding. For everyone who wants to dig deeper into this topic from a scientific standpoint, this is a must read!
"Improve the News" (created by @tegmark / @MIT) is an #AI based platform that allows you to bypass your filter bubble by changing certain parameters. A helpful tool to become aware of current propaganda and to get different perspectives. (2/5)

If you want to know what makes #NumPy arrays so much faster than lists in #Python, watch the first 10 minutes of this tutorial by @keithgalli. Keep watching for a comprehensive introduction to this amazing library.

I've created a wave simulator in #Python to play around with single-slit diffraction, Young's double-slit experiment, and similar setups. My write-up incl. source code can be found here: (1/7)

In addition to the 3d-animations of the waves themselves, the simulator can sum up the wave intensities measured by the sensor on the bottom over time. In case of the double-slit experiment without diffraction, the following pattern will emerge. (2/7)
#physics
Just for comparison, that's what a single #wave looks like in the #simulator. The result on the sensor will be a straight line over time. Check out the write-up to see how this pattern develops. (3/7)
It's also possible to simulate wave diffraction at the slit. A single-slit setup will result in patterns similar to this one. Can you guess what the sensor on the bottom will measure over time? (4/7)
One more year of #AdventOfCode done - thank you @ericwastl for making December entertaining time and time again. Each single star was part of a journey that made me a better programmer. May there rise many more in the years to come!
I also enjoyed @moxie's story telling skills. Almost dying in a sailing accident, being harassed by TSA for years, and visiting the World Cup of the Confederation of Independent Football Associations (#CONIFA/@conifaofficial). Thanks for taking me on this ride! (4/6)
