I got to drive Prosthesis, a giant mech. The video is of the creator operating, my performance was far more tepid. This thing is an amazing feat of engineering. @racing_mech
All hydraulics, two giant pumps, two huge electric motors, lithium batteries, insane power. It was surprisingly delicate to the touch, gentle inputs gave soft movements. A quick jab would throw literally thousands of pounds of force. Intoxicating.
Last week I started working with @unity3d’s Cinemachine and I’m convinced that that package was created with ✨magic✨, absolutely no way it was made with code
In the 1930’s, Alan Blumlein came up with an amazingly simple/elegant way of recording in stereo with 2 figure-8 mics rotated 90* from each other. The stereo representation is a spooky-accurate 3D sound. I’ve been messing with the setup and it’s SO COOL.
I’m hiring. You’re a CG Sup, a tech DP, you obsess over cameras, lighting and how they can automatically film dynamic scenarios. Bonus points for experience with volumetric data.
